SYD-HF963 Comprehensive measuring device for metallurgical properties of iron ore

Applications

Reduction degradation index of iron ore

The burden in blast furnace will be gradually heated during the descending and reduced in the temperature range between 400 and 600℃, the reduction of which under low temperature will lead to the cracking and fragmentation of sinter and pellets. As a result, the gas permeability of burden in shaft of blast furnace and the smooth operation of blast furnace will be deteriorated.

Determination of iron ore reducibility

The represents for reactivity of sinter and pellets during reduction reactions with reductive gases. Usually, the tested iron ore samples are prepared in required particle size range and weight and then reduced with reductive gas of fixed chemical composition and flow rate under constant temperatures. The reducibility of iron ore can be determined according to the variation in weight of tested sample or the ferric and ferrous content of sample after reduction, which can be applied to optimize the sintering and pelleting production process. The reducibility of iron ore has been regarded as a conventional index for the evaluation and guidance of blast furnace smelting.

Determination of reduction expansion index of pellets

Usually, the volume of pellets will expand to some extent during reduction, consequently the strength of which will be decreased accordingly. However, the production of blast furnace can be maintained smoothly if the decreasing of pellets strength is not that significant. However, the condition of blast furnace will be worsen dramatically due to the deterioration of gas permeability and the increasing of dust, which may lead to the hanging and slipping of burden or even the disorder of blast furnace, the decreasing of production rate and the increasing of coke ratio.
